How your BodyType shapes your body's natural patterns

Two women can have identical symptoms — and still experience hormonal pattern in completely opposite ways. The missing piece? Their BodyType.

Two women can have identical symptoms — and still experience hormonal pattern in completely opposite ways. The missing piece? Their BodyType.

The Foundation

Ayurveda has known for over 5,000 years what modern medicine is only beginning to explore — every body is governed by a unique biological constitution. This isn't a metaphor. It's physiology is mapped through the lens of three fundamental forces called Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

Your Prakriti — your inborn BodyType — determines everything from how you digest food to how your hormones cycle, and critically, how hormonal patterns show up differently in your body.

The 3 Doshas

  • Vata — Air and Space. Irregular, light, creative. Governs movement and the nervous system.
  • Pitta — Fire and Water. Intense, driven, focused. Governs digestion and transformation.
  • Kapha — Earth and Water. Steady, nurturing, grounded. Governs structure and immunity.

How Hormonal Pattern Looks Different in Each Type

Hormonal Pattern is not one condition. It's a spectrum — and your Dosha determines which end of that spectrum you're on. This is why a one-size-fits-all supplement or diet rarely works.

Vata-type Hormonal Pattern

Common signals include irregular cycles, anxiety, low body weight, dry skin, and stress sensitivity. Cycles may become inconsistent or irregular.

Pitta-type Hormonal Pattern

An inflammatory pattern — heavier periods, jawline breakouts, hair thinning, and a tendency toward blood sugar sensitivity associated with chronic stress.

Kapha-type Hormonal Pattern

A metabolic pattern — weight gain, sluggish metabolism, blood sugar sensitivity, low mood, and low motivation, alongside irregular cycles.

Why this matters for treatment: Shatavari — a widely recommended herb for Hormonal Pattern— is cooling and heavy. It may deeply nourish a Vata-type woman, but can worsen Kapha stagnation in someone who's already sluggish. Same herb. Opposite outcomes.

The AAVIE Approach

At AAVIE, we don't address Hormonal Pattern generically. We build around your hormonal pattern — the specific way these signals show up in your body, shaped by your Prakriti, your cycle history, your digestion, and your Vikriti (current state of imbalance).

Our assessment cross-references herbs against your BodyType, symptom signals, and safety considerations before assembling your personal blend. No two protocols are the same — because no two bodies are.

If a treatment for Hormonal Pattern hasn't worked for you, it may not have failed you — it may have been designed for someone else's body. Knowing your BodyType changes everything.
